Fort Lauderdale Florida is my home town. I've been all over the place, and I can honestly say I wouldn't want to live anywhere other than here! Ft Lauderdale Florida is paradise as far as the weather and climate goes. Another great point to being this far south is the foilage. Down here we get lots of tropical foilage like the coconut and Royal palms. This really adds to the tropical vibe of the area.

Fort lauderdale is packed with anything and everything you can imagine. We have a great beach scene (no surfing though unless you like surfing in hurricanes), a great night life scene and there are penty of things for the family to do all over this area. Fort Lauderdale is quite a multi-cultural city (as is Tampa and Miami) so speaking spanish is almost a must here.

If you find yourself in Fort Lauderdale a nice spot to go is the Las Olas River Walk. Las Olas is a nice area of downtown Fort Lauderdale with direct access to the Atlantic Ocean and A1A. The River Walk area has recently been rebuilt and I have to say it is a nice spot to be. There are outdoor cafes, the Museum of Art and a number of shops. If you want to see more of the city but from a different perspective there is an Old River boat tour. This is worth the few bucks to see a side of the city most never do.
